"Exploring the possibilities of your future"

Begin planning for life after high school by learning about disability services in a college setting. Presentations will include information about admissions criteria, disability documentation and services, living on campus, panel discussions with current UW -Whitewater students, and alternatives to traditional four-year degree programs. Tour the UW-Whitewater campus and explore on and off campus resources at our resource fair. Let us help you get a head start on your future!

There is no cost to attend this event. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Please include accommodation needs with your registration. Sign language interpreters will be available.

Explore the world of post-secondary education

This event will provide participants with an opportunity to explore the world of post-secondary education and the resources and services available at this level. Through speakers from various campus and off-campus resources, the participants will gather information during the following break-out sessions:

Admissions

An opportunity to find out additional information from Admissions Staff on being admitted as a freshman or transfer student.

Assistive Technology

Information will be provided about technology, software, and hardware that students can utilize to access the computer and complete coursework.

Autism Spectrum

Transitions to college for students on the Autism Spectrum. What students, parents, and others should know

Campus Tour

An opportunity to find out more about the UW-Whitewater Campus by taking a talking and walking tour with campus assistants.

Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD) Services

An overview of the services provided by the Center for Students with Disabilities and how to access those accommodations and services.

Differences Between High School and College/Academic Accommodations

A comparison of the differences between accommodations and services for college students with disabilities versus high school students with disabilities. Session will also include an overview of widely-used academic accommodations.

Documentation Guidelines

What are the types of documentation that are required for the post-secondary setting?

Living on Campus

What is living on campus like? Do I get to pick my roommate? How do I fit all of my stuff into my room? Answers to these questions and more.

Project ASSIST/Summer Transition Program

An overview of two fee-based programs offered through the Center for Students with Disabilities - a tutoring program and a summer program for new UWW students.

Student Panel

Current UW-Whitewater students share their insights about being successful at the college level.

An open forum with some UWW Center for Students with Disabilities staff members - a time for you to ask any questions.
