UW-Whitewater 10th Annual DARWIN DAY, 2008

Presented by BBB Biology Undergraduate Honors Society, the College of Letters and Sciences, the Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Geography and Geology

Michael Novacek
Michael Novacek

Reception starts at 6:45 pm in Upham Hall foyer (front entrance) and features

THE WORLD'S LARGEST EDIBLE TREE OF LIFE

All welcome!

As always, the goal of UWW's Darwin Day is to show why evolution matters--specifically, to illustrate how valuable Darwinian thinking can be in addressing significant societal challenges, in this case the biodiversity crisis. Wisconsin High School Biology Teachers, Principals, Librarians and PTO members are warmly invited to attend. The first 10 teachers at the reception (please look for Jeff McKinnon) will receive a free, signed copy of Dr. Novacek's new book, of the same title as the talk.

For more information contact Jeff McKinnon, Biological Sciences, UW-Whitewater: mckinnoj@uww.edu.

The lecture is part of a coordinated Wisconsin Darwin Day outreach program, also featuring events at UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee (links updated soon). We are building up to Darwin's 200th birthday in 2009 and a statewide celebration!
