Services Provided: Big Brothers Big Sisters provides no charge services to children of single parent families to assist them in reaching their fullest potential in the community socially, emotionally, and academically through one-on-one mentoring. Our program emphasizes the simple things in life...for most of the Littles just having someone to spend quality one-on-one time with is all they need. These children are in need of someone to look up to, a mentor...a friend!

Children are "matched" with an adult volunteer. These matches meet a few times a month enjoying simple things like baking, gardening, outdoor activities, talking, movies, etc. All matches are supported by a Case Manager from Big Brothers Big Sisters and all volunteers must pass a background check, drivers license check, and reference check.

People Served (who is eligible): children ages 6-14 who are from a single parent household or who are in need of a one-on-one mentoring relationship with an adult volunteer.

Additional information: Our program is always in need of adult volunteers to help match the children on our waiting list. Big Brothers Big Sisters services also include a site-based "Lunch Buddies" program and after-school "High School" program. Call our main office for more information.
