Services Provided: Rock County Deferred Prosecution Program (RCDPP) is an adult pre-trial diversion program for first offending misdemeanants. Clients are referred to RCDPP by the Judge and District Attorney to participate in 10 weeks of small group sessions which meet once a week for 2 hours. The defendant's case is generally dismissed once he/she (1) pays for damages, (2) is not re-arrested while in RCDPP, (3) attends all group meetings, (4) if unemployed and no high school diploma or GED certification, obtaining of a GED or educational training towards employment is required, (5) an alcohol and drug referral, when appropriate, and (6) other appropriate intervention, as needed. The groups are facilitated by staff and volunteers who have completed training with the DPP staff (usually on Monday or Tuesday evenings 5:00-7:00 p.m.) The volunteer's eligibility is determined in a personal interview with the DPP staff.

People Served (who is eligible): First offending adults arrested for shoplifting or a misdemeanor and referred to DPP at the discretion of the District Attorney and Judge, and the City Attorney.
