Services Provided: Provides direct services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault and affected family members. APFV also provides community and school education and agency system advocacy.
Summary of Expected Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes of Student Interns: All interns are expected to go through APFV orientation. After orientation, the level of responsibilities is determined by the Executive Director and student. General responsibilities include: providing phone and in-person crisis intervention, legal advocacy, victim support group observation/facilitation, and short term counseling. Students also have the opportunity to observe and participate in meetings, ride-alongs with law enforcement and community education projects. Students will have a good working understanding of non-profit organizations, collaboration and direct client service by the end of an internship at APFV
