- Counseling to seniors at our site or in their homes

- Dementia Support Services and to seniors diagnosed with some type of dementia and to the family caregivers
- Geriatric psychiatry
- Adult Day Health Program based on psycho-social rehab model
Summary of Expected Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes of Student Interns:
- Accurate and complete paperwork as pertinent to assigned duties
- Attend department staffings if schedule permits
- Attend in-house educational presentations
- Lead or co-lead small groups
- Some activities with large groups
- Work with individuals
- Familiarize self with other community services available to seniors
Learning Outcomes:
- Increase knowledge of special needs of seniors experiencing medical and mental health diagnosis and various types of dementia
- Increase knowledge of senior service network
- Increase knowledge of connection within a multi-disciplinary agency and being part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Increase knowledge of relationship between physical and emotional health in older adults
- Increase skills in individual and group counseling to seniors with varied medical and mental health diagnosis
