  1. Counseling to seniors at our site or in their homes
  2. Case management
  3. Care management
  4. Dementia Support Services and to seniors diagnosed with some type of dementia and to the family caregivers
  5. Geriatric psychiatry
  6. Adult Day Health Program based on psycho-social rehab model

Summary of Expected Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes of Student Interns:

  1. Accurate and complete paperwork as pertinent to assigned duties
  2. Attend department staffings if schedule permits
  3. Attend in-house educational presentations
  4. Lead or co-lead small groups
  5. Some activities with large groups
  6. Work with individuals
  7. Familiarize self with other community services available to seniors

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Increase knowledge of special needs of seniors experiencing medical and mental health diagnosis and various types of dementia
  2. Increase knowledge of senior service network
  3. Increase knowledge of connection within a multi-disciplinary agency and being part of a multi-disciplinary team
  4. Increase knowledge of relationship between physical and emotional health in older adults
  5. Increase skills in individual and group counseling to seniors with varied medical and mental health diagnosis
