Services Provided: Child development pre-school services are provided to children between the ages of 0-5 years. Early H.S. works with pregnant women until the child is age 3. Head Start works with children ages 3 to 5 years old.

Head Start considers parent involvement key in Head Start, and has services areas for individualized education, health, mental health, nutrition, social services and will provide transportation when possible.

Summary of Expected Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes of Student Interns:

• The student is placed through the department that the hours are required.
• A State of WI Day Care Licensing file is completed and an orientation/training is completed before entering the classroom.
• The student is expected to be on time, following the scheduled days requested and letting the HS/EHS teacher know of absences.
• Students will be given an opportunity for observing before participating fully with the children. Students will be expected to engage with children at all times--read books, play, meal time, outdoor activities and intentional conversations.
• At no time can a student/volunteer be left alone with a child.
• At no time can a student replace a staff person.
