Services Provided: House of Mercy provides case management services for homeless singles and families. The case manager assists in the planning, implementation, and follow through of a basic action plan to find housing, food, security, employment, transportation, health care, and other basic human needs. Other educational and supportive services include Parenting Strategies through Lutheran Social Services, and opportunities to meet onsite with a housing counselor.

Summary of Expected Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes of Student Interns:

• Understand the role and responsibilities of the social worker at the House of Mercy.
• Gain experience in doing case management with homeless families.
