Dr. Alario (Ph.D. The New School for Social Research 1993; M.A. George Washington University, 1984) is Associate Professor in the department. She has published a book and numerous articles on topics such as social scientific theories, environmental policy, and high-technological issues.  She teaches courses on globalization, political sociology, and environmental sociology.  She has received the 1998-1999 Fulbright Award, the 2006 DAAD (German Academic Exchange Award) among other national and international recognitions, and Fellow, Wissenschaftszentrum, Berlin, 2006.
