Research Interests
Current projects are concerned with the synthesis and evaluation of indanone and indandione sulfonium salt-based photointiators in conventional organic solvents and ionic liquids for the production of photoresists, the mechanistic photochemistry of ionic liquids, and the synthesis and investigation of sterically hindered alkylsulfonates as a probe of solvent ionizing power. Experimental techniques employed include high and low temperature kinetics, NMR, IR, UV-VIS, TLC, DSC, X-ray crystallography, and GC-MS. One other interest lies in the management of scientific technology.
