C. Holly Denning

Ms. Denning has taught Sociology for about 15 years. Teaching positions across the country led from colleges and universities in New England and upstate New York to South Dakota and Colorado, among other places. Fall 2008 begins her fifth year at UW-Whitewater. Courses include: Individual and Society, Race and Ethnic Relations, Sociology of Gender, African American Community and American Indian Studies. Receiving her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Maine in 1985, Holly received her M.A. in Sociology from Boston College in 1993, with emphasis in Social Justice. As a Ph.D. candidate, a newer focus is on applying Restorative Justice models to social and environmental disasters, introduced in a recent article, “Hurricane Katrina, Environmental Racism and Restorative and Community Justice” published in the Fall 2006 VOMA newsletter-- of the Victim Offender Mediation Association.
