Daryle Waechter-Brulla. 1990. Microbiologist
Ph.D., 1988, Microbiology, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
Associate professor teaching Microbiology, Biological Foundations, Biology of Aging, Introduction to Genetics, Molecular Biology.
Research interests include the study of the effects of pharmaceuticals on the release of the reproductive hormone LHRH, methylotrophy by the photosynthetic bacterium Rhodobacter sphaeroides, sources of contamination in microbreweries, innovative teaching techniques, and inclusion of technology in general science courses. Her laboratory work uses microscopy, transposon mutagenesis, and other molecular biology techniques to examine the effects of individual mutations on viability and success of R. sphaeroides.
