    GIS Certification

    The GIS Certificate is a professional certification for students looking for a complete and well-rounded set of GIS skills. The Certificate is recommended for any student who is interested in having GIS as part of their resume and future work. The certificate can be completed by any student regardless of their major. The certificate has 15 units of required courses:

    • Two core courses (6 units): GIS I and II
    • Choice of two techniques courses (6 units): Remote Sensing, Economic Geography, or Cartography
    • One advanced GIS course (3 units): see checklist for options

    Once completed, you need to complete an application in your final semester to receive the certificate and have it appear on your transcript.
