    Internships

The Psychology Department provides field study opportunities for students through its Field Training course (PSYCH 387). In this course psychology majors and minors participate in field placements where they may apply their knowledge of psychology to real-world situations for course credit. These field experiences are intended to provide students with an introduction to applied psychology. Students may participate in either adult or child-focused field sites. Field placements have included a range of human service agencies, schools, crisis intervention programs and correctional facilities. Many of these experiences provide insight into the types of employment students may achieve with a bachelors degree in psychology. Other placements allow students to shadow master's level practitioners and to learn more about opportunities that would be available with an advanced degree.
