Latinx/Latin American Studies

A new minor, available in August 2017

Latinx/Latin American Studies offers a 24-unit minor composed of an introductory course, a capstone course, 15 core units chosen from a list of approved courses, and an elective course from the Race and Ethnic Studies course listing. The minor examines issues of Latinidad (or being/living Latinx) within the U.S. and in Latin America through a multidisciplinary, domestic and transnational lens that includes courses in history, literature, women’s and gender studies, geography, and anthropology, among others. Latinxs and Latin Americans make up the largest population in the American continent.
