Alumni Profile: Eric Fritz '93
ENVISION Magazine, Winter 2007
When Eric Fritz was growing up, "sports ruled" in his family. "It didn't matter which sports, we played them all and had fun," he said. Fritz quickly found out that his sport was soccer, and when he was in high school, Fritz developed a business plan for an indoor soccer center.
Shortly after graduating from UW-Whitewater in 1993 with a major in political science and a minor in sociology, his high school business plan became a reality, and Fritz became the creator and owner of KEVA Sports Center in Middleton.
The center offers a number of different sports for all ages as well as corporate picnics, corporate partnerships, concerts, community events and family events. "KEVA is an experience," he said.
During his time at UWWhitewater, Fritz played on the varsity soccer team. Because of his love of sports and dedication to UWWhitewater, he continues to keep a close eye on UWWhitewater sports. "What a great time to be a Warhawk," he said. "Congratulations to the football, baseball and women's volleyball teams for making it to the national championships."
Fritz stays in touch with UW-Whitewater in ways other than through sports. He is on the Dean's Advisory Board for the College of Letters and Sciences. "It's rewarding to explore ideas with other successful people hoping to make a change," he said. "My goal is to stay involved with UW-Whitewater."
He said his experiences at the university have helped his career. One of these experiences was his level of involvement. "I took on leadership roles in the activities that I was involved with," he said. "I find myself in a lot of these same leadership-type situations."
Fritz is happy with KEVA Sports Center, but he's planning for the future. "My plan is to keep KEVA moving upward," he said. With two children and one on the way, Fritz will soon have his own soccer team to bring into KEVA.
