Jeremy DuCharme
Special Agent Jeremy DuCharme, FISD.
May 2006 Graduate of UW-Whitewater.

Jeremy DuCharme majored in Sociology and criminal justice at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After graduating Summa Cum Laude in May of 2006, DuCharme began looking for work related to sociology.

DuCharme first took a job as a Social Worker with Rock County. Within the first two months of working at Rock County Long Term Support as an Intake Worker, he moved to case manager, Adult Family Home re-certification assessor, and an employee willing to take on any task that came his way.

After being laid off due to budget cuts in January of 2007, DuCharme was offered the opportunity to join the Federal Government. He underwent multiple tests, interviews, and an extensive background investigation before becoming one of only three new hires in the Federal Investigative Service.

"I believe that all of the coursework and opportunities provided to me in the UW-Whitewater Sociology program really gave me a broad base knowledge of skills that can be applied in the real world on a daily basis. The courses offered had a wide range of topics, and each allowed students to focus in on specific interests that can help in making career decisions. Not only was the assistance from professors outstanding, but the camaraderie found within the student body was something that is difficult to match at other college campuses."

DuCharme is now working out of the Great Lakes, IL office of the Federal Investigative Services as a Special Agent conducting National Security and Intelligence Investigations. He works primary in Northern Illinois and Wisconsin, but has traveled to various parts of the country to work. He also works overseas in countries such as Germany, Greece, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Korea, Japan, England, and has many different opportunities worldwide. Along with the federal employment, he is also enjoying the federal benefits and stability in his field of work.

In 2008, DuCharme was officially nominated for Rookie of the Year throughout his entire agency, national and international. DuCharme writes, "I am extremely excited about the prospect of being considered for this honor, and I hope my nomination carries through to the end! If I get this honor, it will open more doors for the future."

"I am constantly amazed at the individuals that I work with. Many are individuals with multiple Master’s degrees, PhD’s, 20 years of government service, and people that have made a huge impact in the way that modern national security, counterterrorism, and counterintelligence programs work."
