Thesis Workbook

Step Eight

Refining Your Thesis

Writing is "recursive," meaning you will often want to return to a previous idea and revise it before moving on. Thesis statements are no exception. This step offers you the chance to revise your thesis statement and write a short reflection on your experience with this workbook so far.

In section eight of your worksheet, first copy your starting thesis from section two. Then, taking account of your brainstorming and counterarguments, type your revised thesis. Finally, write a one-paragraph reflection on the changes you made. How has your thesis changed? Why has it changed?
