Summer Internships

Summer internships are available as a valuable way of gaining experience in the accounting field. However, most summer internships are with private industry, as opposed to the spring internships which focus primarily on public accounting firms. In private industry, the need for an intern varies greatly depending on the individual needs of the company. Therefore, the summer program is less formal than the spring program. Internship opportunities are posted through the Career Services Hawkquest website and then routed to the Internship Director. However, the responsibility of obtaining these internships rests primarily with the individual student. Although summer internships are less abundant than those available in the spring program, they do provide excellent learning opportunities for students considering career options outside of public accounting.

To obtain more information about summer internships, contact Bill Tatman, Accounting Internship Director at (262) 472-1707, C5022, or tatmanw@uww.edu.
