Technology Event Support

Overview

The College of Business and Economics Technology Staff is happy to assist with events held in Hyland Hall when possible. Unfortunately, finite resources and the popularity of Hyland Hall allow us to provide limited support for people holding events in the building. The following policy statements guide the building and technology support decisions for Hyland Hall

We are happy to meet with the faculty advisor or adult sponsor of any group or organization. We suggest you arrange a meeting with the CoBE Tech staff as early as possible to discuss your technology requirements. The CoBE Tech support staff will work with the faculty advisor to identify how to provide the best technology support possible including signage and recordings. The 16-screen main area will only be approved for short periods of time in the case of special events hosting outside participants.

Special event examples may include national competitions or nationally recognized speakers sponsored by CoBE. CoBE or a CoBE organization must be prominently identified in the publication materials to qualify for special event postings on the main area of the 16-screen monitors. Event sponsors may reserve tables and chairs for the entrance area. Event sponsors are responsible for the set-up and take-down of the tables and chairs. Joanna Stradusky (stradusj@uww.edu) can assist with the table and chair reservation.

Event sponsors are responsible for all clean up. Please contact Roy Haas (haasr@uww.edu) if additional trash cans are required for food or other items. Non-College of Business and Economics Events We are happy to meet with the faculty advisor or adult sponsor of any group or organization one week or more prior to an event to discuss and train participants on how to use the CoBE technology.

Students will be available at the CoBE Help Desk to provide basic technology support during open CoBE Tech office hours. Sponsors for events held in Timmerman Auditorium may post a sign on the Kiosk near the entrance of Hyland Hall. Signage information can be found at the digital signage page.

Event sponsors are encouraged to bring in outside resources if recording is required. Video equipment can be checked out at the A/V Checkout station in the Anderson Media Lab.
