Professional Experience
Dr. Scovotti spent the first 21 years of her career in the business world. Her career path began as a media buyer for a direct marketing advertising agency and concluded as president of the American operations of a $2 billion international telecommunications carrier. During her time in business, she successfully established and managed a direct marketing consulting firm, working with corporations and government agencies in Western Europe, Asia/Pacific, and North America.

Research
Dr. Scovotti focuses on an eclectic range of research topics including, direct and interactive marketing, entrepreneurship, cross cultural collaboration, social marketing, retailing in small communities, and marketing pedagogy. She is also an award winning business case writer with her work found in numerous textbooks, casebooks, and academic journals. Her research has been published in journals such as Journal of Marketing Education, Marketing Education Review, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, Journal of Operations Research and Information Systems, International Journal of Integrated Marketing Communications, Journal of Advertising Education, and Health Marketing Quarterly to name a few.
Her most recent work focuses on the impact of culture on the effectiveness of cross border collaboration and the evolution from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0 and its affect on marketing strategy. She has also been involved with numerous applied research projects pertaining to business and economic development. For example, she has conducted studies to evaluate the impact of fairs and festivals on independent retailers in small communities within Wisconsin.
