Study Abroad/Exchange

There are many opportunities to study abroad or to participate in exchange programs where you study in another country for a semester or two.  You are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities!  The steps to arranging a study abroad experience are as follows:

Start Early!  You should be planning about a year ahead.
Determine where you would like to study.  Go to the International Education and Programs Office in Anderson Library 2243 to learn about study abroad opportunities. If the program you've selected is a Whitewater exchange program, meet with the program's coordinator as necessary to work out the details of studying
abroad. Find out which courses will be offered during the semester in which you intend to study abroad.  If you've selected a program offered by another school, you will need to contact that school to get this information.
Meet with the Assistant Dean of the College of Business and Economics to determine whether the courses fit into your academic plan.If the program you've selected is not a Whitewater exchange program, meet with Admissions personnel to find out whether the courses will transfer to Whitewater from the school you'll be working with. Go and enjoy! When you return, be sure to have an official transcript sent to Whitewater.
