Advising is most effective when it is viewed as an on-going process in which the students and the advisors work as partners. Students must conscientiously work with their advisors in order to develop comprehensive academic plans that lead to successful career planning. Ultimately, students have the responsibility for their own educational plans and for monitoring all requirements for graduation.
When do I meet with an advisor?
Advising is a three tier process:
- Students with less than 24 credits are advised within the Academic Advising & Exploration Center.
- Students with 24 + credits who are not yet eligible to register for upper division courses are advised within the College of Business and Economics Advising office in Hyland Hall 4300. This information is also available within your D2L account. If you have any questions about the advising process please call 262-472-4900.
- Once you begin upper division courses you will be assigned an advisor from the department of your major. If you are not certain who your advisor is, contact the department of your major or check the WINS system to find out.
