Requirements Checklist
NOTE: Students should access their campus email and the College of Education website on a regular basis for further information.
Basic Eligibility Requirements:
- Attend Phase 1 Meeting: College of Education Program Requirements
- Dates available on the calendar
- Dates available on the calendar
- Pass all three portions of the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST).
- Attend Phase 2 Meeting: Professional Education Orientation
- Dates available on the calendar
- Dates available on the calendar
- Pass each course of the Pre-Professional Foundations Courses
- with "C"/"S" or better
- Not required for admission eligibility for Dual Licensure in *Early Childhood majors.
- Possible waivers or substitutions must be on official forms and signed by your advisor and department chairperson.
- Complete the Phase 2 portfolio evaluation by taking
- All three courses within the Pre-Professional Foundations Courses at UW-Whitewater OR
- If the INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATION AND TEACHING course of the Pre-Professional Foundations block is transferred in from another institution, you MUST take the Portfolio Development I (EDFOUND 214 for 1 credit)
(Phase 2 portfolio not required for admission eligibility for Dual Licensure in *Early Childhood majors*)
Note: Passing the course Introduction to Education and Teaching does not mean you have passed the Portfolio requirement. Talk to your instructor to determine if you have passed the Portfolio requirement. The "non-academic milestones" on your AR must be updated to show if you passed the portfolio requirement.
- Pass Speech 110
- with "C"/"S" or better
- Not required for admission eligibility for Dual Licensure in *Early Childhood majors.
- Possible waivers or substitutions must be on official forms and signed by your the Speech Department for typical undergraduates and licensure advisor for those who hold a bachelor's degree.
- Complete a minimum of 40 credits
- *Early Childhood majors must complete a minimum of 30 credits.
- *Early Childhood majors must complete a minimum of 30 credits.
- Music 111 Fundamental of Music
- For *Early Childhood majors only.
- For *Early Childhood majors only.
- Achieve a combined cumulative 2.75 GPA
- Verify Experiences with Learners
- Minimum of 350 hours beginning with Freshman year in high school.
* This is the dual licensure program that enables the accepted cohort group to obtain regular and special education licensure and does not include PreK-6.
