ORIENTATION Sat May 4th 8:30-3:30

Welcome!

Kristal KagyThe Faculty of the Early Childhood Program has developed a new cohort designed specifically for students transferring with an Applied Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from a Wisconsin Technical College. The Early Childhood Program is a dual licensure program in which people can become certified to teach both regular education and special education (children ages birth through eight).

This new cohort is called ECE4U. General content will be taught online with one Saturday face-to-face each month on the University of Whitewater campus, so that those currently working in the field can continue to work in their current positions.

This program will begin every summer. The cohort format is designed for students to complete the sequence of courses together. During the first summer, students take the required math courses, a leadership course, and the first reflective seminar. During the following four semesters (including summer and winterim sessions), students complete the necessary ECE dual licensure courses as well as the required General Education Courses and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction required PI34 courses.

Students in this program are advised individually about which courses are needed and best options for completing a Bachelor in ECE with recommendation for teaching licenses in Early Childhood Regular and Special Education in Wisconsin.
