Directed Teaching A: Infant/Toddler (EDUINDP 341) 6 credits during 2nd Summer enrolled
This is student teaching in an infant/toddler placement that takes place in a Birth to Three/Early Intervention program (serving infants and toddlers in their natural environments). Each student will be placed in a Birth-to-Three Program during a full summer (for 12 weeks), for a total of at least 300 hours. A university supervisor will observe each student two times.
Directed Teaching C (EDUINDP 461) and D (EDUINDP 462) 6 credits each course
Final Spring Semester
Directed Teaching C is Consultation in Early Childhood. This is Public School student teaching during one half of the school semester (during 8 to 9 weeks).
Directed Teaching D is Children 5 through 8 Years student teaching during one half of the school semester (during 8 to 9 weeks).
Students will begin their placements on the first day of the cooperating teacher’s Spring Semester. Usually students will be placed in teams of two in the schools and will rotate through the two placements. Students will be in each placement for 1/2 of a semester and the school will determine those dates. A university supervisor will observe each student teacher four times with at least two observations in each of the two settings.
