Professional Development (PD) - 36 credits

Core Courses - 24 credits

Specialization Courses - 12 credits

  • 12 credits of specialization courses based on the student's focus of study in conjunction with the student's advisor

Cross Categorical (CC) Licensure Coursework - 36 credits

Students pursuing first licensure must:

  • Pass the PPST as a prerequisite to the program
  • Pass the PRAXIS II Test of Middle School Content Knowledge well before directed teaching placement
  • Complete the Phase 1 meeting and Phase 2 portfolio evaluation by taking the EDFOUND 210 course
  • Have a 2.75 GPA (also required of Graduate School)
  • Have the equivalent of a 3 credit Child Development or Child Psychology in undergraduate coursework
  • There may be additional undergraduate coursework as required by DPI - your advisor will help review your transcripts
