Dean's Advisory Council

The Dean's Advisory Council (DAC) serves as a liaison between the student body and the College of Education & Professional Studies (COEPS). It acts in an advisory capacity to the Dean by making recommendations about COEPS needs and services, programs and general operations.  It is also intended to connect students with available resources, and to bridge communication between students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

DAC members will serve one-year terms and will include balanced representation between majors and degree level (undergraduate/graduate).  Students are invited to serve by their major department and/or by representing an associated student organization such as:

  • C.A.R.E. - Caring and Resourceful Educators
  • Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) - International Honor Society for Professional Counselors
  • CHARPE - Coaching, Health, Athletics, Recreation and Physical Education
  • NSSLHA - National Student Speech Language Hearing Association
  • ROTC - Army
  • SCEC - Student Council for Exceptional Children
  • SSO - Student Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers
  • SWEA - Student Wisconsin Education Association

The DAC will meet the first Tuesday of every month from 4-6 p.m. during the academic year.  A Convener and Associate Convener will be chosen from among the DAC members to run the meeting, set the agenda and work with the Dean on the various obligations of the Committee.
