Dear Families,

Hi, my name is Loni Jonetta and I will be working as a student teacher for the next six weeks in your child's classroom. I am working towards a certification teaching children birth through third grade. This is the sixth and final semester of my training as a teacher. I have also had experience student teaching with children at the ages of six months to five years and enjoyed working with infants, toddlers, preschool and elementary age children with and without special needs. I'm looking forward to this unique learning opportunity in your child's kindergarten classroom.

I'm originally from Chicago, but have been in school in Whitewater for four years. Besides getting practical experience with children by being in the College of Education and Professional Studies for three years I have also worked for four summers in Chicago as a camp counselor. Outside of working with children some of my interests include hiking and reading. My goal upon graduating is to obtain a teaching position in an inclusive program in an urban setting for children with special needs and those who are developing typically.

I will be working with the students in your child's class in various capacities both with small and large groups in math, science, social studies, and language arts activities. I will gradually increase my responsibilities with the students over the course of the semester and conduct two lead teaching weeks. I'm excited to work with your child this semester. Please do not hesitate to stop in, call or email me if you have time as I would welcome the opportunity to get to know you along with your child.

Sincerely,

(sign the letter)
