Registering for Classes

Students who have been admitted to UW-Whitewater either as an undergraduate or graduate student register for all courses through WINS. To use this you will need your NetID  and your password, which is the same as your UW email password. Contact the University Helpdesk (262-472-4357)  if you have difficulty signing into WINS. Tutorials can be found at the Registrar's Office website. For further questions on the registration process, contact the Registrar's Office (262-472-1211, registrar@uww.edu).

Priority registration is based on the number of credits completed. Students are notified of their registration dates through campus email or chan check by signing on to WINS, clicking on Academics, then Enrollment, and finally Registration Start Time. Registration holds must be cleared before a student is allowed to register. Students must also agree to the terms and conditions.  It is always good to register as early as possible to avoid being closed out of a full course. Only students registered before the first day of class will have immediate access to the online course materials in Desire2Learn.  For those registering for UWSSLEC courses, contact Carrie Lencho if more information is needed.

Once registered for classes, any changes to your schedule can be done through WINS. If you plan to drop a class, and it is your only class, you must contact the Registrar's Office (262-472-1221, withdraw@uww.edu) as this cannot be done through WINS.
