Credit Outreach

Credit Outreach courses have been specially designed for the part-time undergraduate, graduate and professional students that will continue to comprise a greater share of the clients served by our University. The courses have been scheduled during convenient late afternoon, evening and weekend time slots at strategic locations throughout our service area and via distance learning technologies to accommodate the diverse working schedules of busy professionals and to promote access to our university.

Summer Session

Summer Session offers students the opportunity to accelerate their degree programs, earn credits toward professional licensure, and enjoy classes taken for personal enrichment.

Session One: May 26 to June 12
Session Two: June 15 to July 3
Session Three: July 6 to July 24
Session Four: July 27 to August 14

Travel Study

The UW-Whitewater Office of Continuing Education offers short-term travel study courses to destinations within the United States for college-level students and certified teachers.

Also offered are international programs designed primarily for non-traditional audiences and are often used for professional development purposes such as fulfilling Department of Public Instruction or other licensure requirements.

Fairhaven Lecture Series

At the center of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's mission, dating back to the institution's inception in 1868, is the provision of high quality instruction.

All lectures are open to the public at no charge and are held on Mondays at the Fellowship Hall, Fairhaven Retirement Community, 435 West Starin Road in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Guest/street parking is adjacent to the building.

Winterim

Winterim is a three-week session held between the Fall and Spring terms designed to help students keep on track for graduation. It features sections of courses that tend to fill up quickly during the academic year.

Generally, the Winterim session begins shortly after New Year's Day and concludes on the Friday before Martin Luther King Day. Depending on the calendar, however, Winterim may begin in late December.

Camps and Conferences

The Office of Continuing Education Services welcomes you to visit our camps and conferences website! Each year our office serves thousands of people from age four to eighty!

We offer camps, workshops, conferences and non-credit classes ranging in size from five people to several thousand.

School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater oversees programs whose goal is to provide high quality, practitioner-oriented programs that use knowledge and skills acquired through baccalaureate degrees as a foundation for advanced preparation and professional development for careers in business and industry, education and human services.

LEARN Center

Designed by faculty and academic staff, the Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Reasearch Network (LEARN) Center was established on the UW-Whitewater campus in 1998.

Its mission is to assist faculty and instructional academic staff in their ongoing efforts to develop and refine their skills as teacher/scholars, and to support academic programs in their efforts to optimize student learning.

Research & Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is a unit within the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education created to support the scholarly and creative activity of faculty and staff. The ORSP mission is to facilitate the procurement of external support through research grants, contracts, and technical assistance agreements; to administer internal support for research; and to document and publicize the scholarly achievements of members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater community.

Learning Communities
