Camp Director

Pat Miller, Head Coach

Coach Pat Miller enters his ninth season as the head coach at UW-Whitewater. During Coach Miller’s first eight seasons he’s led the Warhawks to three conference championships (2002, 2006 and 2008), two conference tournament championships (2006 and 2008) and three NCAA tournament berths. His 169-55 overall record is the 5th highest winning percentage among active coaches in NCAA Division III. In addition, Miller has the 4th highest winning percentage in WIAC history among coaches with at least 100 wins. Coach Miller has also been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2008, and the Wisconsin Basketball Association’s College Coach of the Year in 2008.

Miller is a 1989 graduate of UW-Whitewater and was the captain of the UW-Whitewater men's basketball National Championship team in 1989. He ranks third in three-point field goals made and third in three-point field goal percentage. After graduating, Miller played professional basketball in Denmark for one season before becoming the head boys' coach at Harvard High School in Harvard, Illinois.

Camp Staff

UW-Whitewater Head Coach Pat Miller, Assistant Coach Todd Skrivseth, and the Warhawk staff will provide all of the organization and instruction at all camp sessions. In addition, some of the best high school and college coaches in the state will be present to provide insight and experience to your game. Camper to coach ratio is approximately 1:10

Commuters

Commuters are campers who elect not to stay in the residence halls. Commuters do not eat breakfast on campus but will be provided with lunch and dinner. Commuters should register at the specified location along with resident campers. The specified dormitory will have a lounge with a TV that is available to all commuters during the session breaks.

Room/Board

Resident campers will be housed in the residence halls located on the UW-Whitewater campus. The rooms are double occupancy (2 single beds). Campers will need to provide their own linens. Campers will be supervised by counselors and coaches who stay in the same residence hall. Overnight campers will have three well-balanced meals each full day. Commuting campers will be provided with lunch and dinner. Meals are included in the registration fee. Campers can request a rooming assignment with a friend. It is our experience that campers, especially younger ones, have a better experience if they attend with someone they know.

Location

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is located in southeastern Wisconsin. Directions to the UW-W campus and residence hall will be provided in your camp information packet which is mailed out 2-3 weeks before the start of camp.

Facilities

The Warhawk Basketball Camps are conducted on the beautiful campus of UW-Whitewater. Campers will have use of recreational facilities including the Williams Center and Kachel Fieldhouse. At the conclusion of each night session the pool in the Williams Center will be available from 9:00 pm-10:30 pm for open swim. Campers must wear a bathing suit and will be supervised by certified Lifeguards.

Campus Saftey/Supervison

The safety and well being of each camper is our first and foremost responsibility. All Campers will be provided an escort from the Residence Hall to the Williams Center at the start and conclusion of each session. A Camp Coach will meet the campers at specified locations and times to escort them to their next location. All Residence Halls are automatically locked from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am and a room check is performed every night and morning.
