About Our Baseball Camps
The purpose of our camps is to teach the proper fundamentals of pitching, hitting, catching, and infield play. Our camps stress the importance of attitude, confidence and dedication in order to give all youngsters an opportunity to succeed in baseball and life.
Register Early! Space is limited. All camps have reached maximum participants the last four years.
Extreme Baseball Camp - Designed As The All-Inclusive 1-Day Camp
- Ages 9-10 (Maximum 25 participants)
- Ages 11-12 (Maximum 25 participants)
- Ages 13-14 (Maximum 25 participants)
- Ages 15-18 (Maximum 25 participants)
Winter Baseball Camp - Designed As The Two-Day Intensive Camp
Intense training in the following skill areas. Choose From:
- Pitching
- Hitting
- Infield
- Catching
Spring Baseball Camp - Designed As The One Day "Tune-Up" Camp
Designed to refresh and prepare players for their upcoming season. Skill areas include:
- Pitching
- Hitting
- Infield
- Catching
General Information
Location
Kachel Fieldhouse, UW-Whitewater campus.
The Kachel Fieldhouse is located south of Perkin's Stadium and adjacent to Williams Center on the UW-W Campus
Eligibility
The camp is open to anyone 9 - 18 years old, including high school seniors.
Equipment
Each camper should bring:
- Bat
- Glove
- Protective Cup
- Batting Gloves
- Gym Shoes (no cleats)
- Batting Helmet (if possible)
Warhawk apparel will be available for purchase on site!
Lunch
Bring a bag lunch or money. (Rocky's pizza will be available for purchase)

Camp Staff
John Vodenlich, Head Coach
John Vodenlich enters his sixth season as the Warhawks’ head coach, with his teams compiling a record of 181-56 and earning seven WIAC titles over the past nine years. Last year, the Warhawks finished with a 42-10 record and a 3rd place finish in the NCAA Division III Championship. Once again, Vodenlich earned the honor of MidWest Regional Coach of the year. In 2007, Vodenlich was inducted into the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2005, he led the Warhawks to their first NCAA Division III Championship after a third place finish a year earlier. He was honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association as the 2005 NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year and Wisconsin Baseball’s Man-of-the-Year 2005. Vodenlich, who played for UW-Whitewater from 1989-92, was a two-time All-American for the Warhawks as a catcher and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1992 and his M.B.A. in 1994. After two seasons as the head coach at Edgewood College, he returned to UW-Whitewater as an assistant coach in the fall of 1999.
David Perchinsky, Assistant Coach
Coach Perchinsky is beginning his sixth season with the Warhawk staff. In his first five years at UW-Whitewater, the Warhawks have won four WIAC titles in five years. During that time, the Warhawks have won a National Title and finished 3rd in the Nation twice. Prior to joining the Warhawks, Perchinksy was an assistant coach at South Dakota State University where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and was a college assistant coach at Augustana College in South Dakota.
Armando Hernandez, Assistant Coach
Armando Hernandez is entering his 15th year as an assistant coach at UW-Whitewater. During his playing career at UW-Whitewater, Hernandez acquired 2 Gold Glove awards and was an All-Conference selection as a second baseman. Hernandez teaches middle school in the Kettle Moraine School District, and was the head baseball coach at the high school. Last year with Coach Hernandez at the helm, Kettle Moraine finished second in the state tournament, the best finish since 1988.
Stein Rear, Assistant Coach
Stein Rear is beginning his fourth year on the staff and was a former Warhawk standout catcher. Last year, he was named as the Catching Coach of the Year.
Ryan Callahan, Pitching Coach
Callahan returns home as the new Warhawk Pitching Coach after three years in professional baseball with the Twins and Giants. Callahan was a standout pitcher and outfielder for the Warhawks from 2000-04 and captained his team to a 3rd-place finish in the NCAA Championships in 2004.
Greg Reinhard, Pitching Coach
Greg Reinhard was the 2005 Division III Baseball Pitcher of the Year and led the Warhawks to a National Title. He currently plays for the Chicago Cubs.
Insurance
Each camper will be covered by a limited accident insurance policy. The cost of insurance is included in the registration fee. Precautions will be taken to prevent any accidents, and there will be camp health supervisors available. The insurance includes primary insurance coverage up to $1000, secondary coverage up to $5000 and $300 maximum dental insurance. (Insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries and is for camp-related accidents only.)
