Fine Arts Camp - June 12 - August 4, 2006

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fine Arts Camp (FAC) is dedicated to providing elementary level students with the opportunity to explore music, drama, and visual arts in a safe and friendly environment.

With experienced and friendly staff, campers will gain a better understanding of different areas of art through hands-on activities. The weekly camp offerings will not only foster an emphasis in the arts, but will incorporate camp-like events such as nature hikes, swimming, water games, and other such outdoor activities.

Features

• Drama: Campers will have the opportunity to explore their theatrical awareness, and to participate in a series of activities and games which will assist them in doing so.
• Art: Campers will engage in various art projects, individually and as a group. Project mediums range from paper mache, painting, and sculpting, using 2-D and 3-D design principles.
• Music: Through hands-on activities, song, and dance, campers will gain a better understanding of basic musical elements.
• Electives: Electives are fun activities planned by the group leaders which change daily. Campers will have the opportunity to choose two of three offered electives.
• All Camp Activity: Every Friday, FAC as a whole will conduct an activity that involves the entire camp. These activities range from an ice cream social, to a talent show,
and even an all camp four-square tournament. This event is Friday’s elective camp activity.
