Swimming Camps
Camp 1: June 21 - June 26, 2009
Camp 2: June 28 - July 02, 2009
The purpose of the UW-Whitewater Swimming Camps is to improve efficiency in the water by focusing on technique, stroke mechanics, and improving starts and turns. Camps are limited in size to offer each camper one on one time to develop skills needed to improve race performance. Each camp offers two in-water sessions to refine technique and apply it in a practical setting. A dryland session is also offered to improve strength and flexibility. The goal of the camp is to teach each athlete simple skills that they can continue to work on when they return to their home programs.

Diving Camps
Diving Camp: July 12 - July 16, 2009
The purpose of the UW-Whitewater Diving Camp is to teach every camper the fundamental and advanced skills necessary to allow each athlete to reach their full potential.
The diving camp will provide instruction for divers of all ability levels. There will be three practice sessions per day focusing on the fundamentals of diving through the use of dryland stations, trampoline, and water workouts. The camp is designed to develop diving skills related to technique, board work, water entry, and strength building. Small group and individualized instruction will be provided to meet the learning needs of each athlete.

Camp Staff
Joel Rollings
Joel Rollings was named swimming and diving coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in August 2006. Since then his teams have broken 16 school records.
Before coming to Whitewater, Rollings served as the interim assistant swim coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Prior to that he was the head coach for the Germantown (WI) Swim Club for four years. From 1998-2000 Rollings was an age group coach for the highly respected Phillips 66 Splash Club in Oklahoma, preceded by a stint as a graduate assistant coach for Texas Christian University (1996-98).
Coach Rollings has worked with athletes from the novice level to Olympic Trials and NCAA Division I qualifiers. The UW-Whitewater swim camps are designed to break down stroke technique to its fundamental concepts emphasizing feel and awareness in the water.
Cassie Kubly
Cassie Kubly is the former head diving coach for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In her two years at UW-Whitewater she coached three conference medal winners and one NCAA competitor. Cassie came to UW-W from UW-Madison where she currently holds records on three meter and platform. She was a three-time Big 10 conference competitor and two-time NCAA zone competitor. Cassie has been a diving coach in the Madison area for over 8 years. She has coached all ages and ability levels through her experience with the Madison All-City Diving League, Mad City Diving Club, and has also coached at the high school level.
Camp Fee Information
Camps will be conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Overnight campers will be staying in one of the residence halls on campus and dining at Esker Hall. Commuters will be provided lunch on campus daily as part of their enrollment fee. All campers must be 12 years or older to participate.
Resident Campers: $395
(stay overnight Sunday-Friday morning)
Commuter Campers: $345
(cost does not include breakfast or dinner)
Discount: 4 or more participants from the same club or school receive a $25 discount.
Facilities & Location
Camps will be conducted at the Williams Center Pool. The Williams Center pool is a six-lane, 25-yard facility. Depth is 7 feet at the starting end, and 4 feet in the shallow end.
Insurance
Each camper will be covered by a limited accident insurance policy. The cost of insurance is included in the registration fee. Precautions will be taken to prevent any accidents, and there will be camp health supervisors available. The insurance includes primary insurance coverage up to $1000, secondary coverage up to $5000 and $300 maximum dental insurance. (Insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries and is for camp-related accidents only.)
