Warhawk Junior Tennis Camps 2013
Warhawk Tennis 2013
The Warhawk Junior Tennis Camps are known as some of
the best tennis camps in the Midwest. They are intended
for players between the ages of 12–18. These camps
prepare campers for high school and tournament play by
focusing on mental toughness and strategy. Each camp is
broken into six different levels from intermediate to state
ranked tournament players, so there is fun for everyone.
Bring a friend or doubles partner to add to the enjoyment.

UW-Whitewater Facilities

The camp takes place on UW-Whitewater’s outdoor lighted 12-court tennis complex, and 12 more neighboring courts. The University also has 4 indoor courts that are occasionally available in the beautiful new fieldhouse. The fieldhouse also has a state-of-the-art training room, weight room and pool, which are all available for use by the campers. The residence halls house two campers per room. Campers are expected to furnish their own bedding. The dining center offers three daily all-you-can-eat meals for the campers.
Additional Activities
Night activities are the highlight of this camp. Every night
we conclude with the ever popular High Intensity, which
is a series of high energy drills with music. Prior to High
Intensity, the camp offers a variety of evening activities
including tennis tournaments and a talent show. If you
have a skill, talent or skit, be prepared to show it off.
Bring your instrument, humor or personality to join in the
fun or just watch.

Support Staff
Our support staff consists of both Senior and Junior Staff Members who work with campers to help develop proper mechanics of tennis. Our staff also offers individual help throughout the day for campers who want further guidance.
Refunds
Partial refunds are given for illness or injury only, and are pro-rated on a daily basis. Refunds are not given for inclement weather. We will do our absolute best to make up lost time due to poor weather with video analysis or seminars on tennis topics. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Continuing Education Services Office or to Coach Frank Barnes. Email to cesevents@uww.edu.
Reminders
Do not wear brand new shoes to camp without
breaking them in first. Blisters are often a problem
considering the long days of tennis in the hot sun. So
play plenty of tennis prior to camp to prepare yourself.
Do not plan on playing in outside tournaments during
the week at camp or leaving early. We play plenty of
tennis and need specific numbers, so plan on staying
with us the entire week. We have a full service pro shop
for stringing, grips, shoes, hats, rackets and clothing.
How to Avoid Blisters
Many campers experience painful blisters on their feet and racket hand due to poor preconditioning . We strongly recommend that campers DO NOT BRING NEW TENNIS SHOES without adequately breaking them in first. To alleviate muscle soreness, we suggest that campers play at least one hour per day for a week to two weeks before attending camp. If court time is not available, jumping rope, jogging and sprinting can help to precondition aspiring players.
Blisters and soreness can inhibit much of the enjoyment and satisfaction that campers should experience during their stay, and we hope our campers will heed our advice by preparing themselves for six to eight hours of tennis daily throughout their stay.
Insurance
Each camper will be covered by a limited accident insurance policy. The cost of insurance is included in the registration fee. Precautions will be taken to prevent any accidents, and there will be camp health supervisors available. The insurance includes primary insurance coverage up to $1000, secondary coverage up to $5000 and $300 maximum dental insurance. (Insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries and is for camp-related accidents only.)
