About the Camp

Warhawk Adult Camp is designed for adults 21 and over with a NTPR rating between 3.0 and 4.5. Emphasis is placed on technique, repetition, strategy, competition, and fun. Evenings will be used for competition and high intensity drills. The camper to instructor ratio will be 4 to 1 and the camp will be limited to 48 participants per session.

    Thank you for your interest in the Warhawk Tennis camps. Unfortunately the adult session is full. Please feel free to register to be put on our wait list without paying anything at this time. If a spot opens for you, we will contact you to see if you want to be added at that time.

UW-Whitewater Tennis Complex

The camp will take place on our state-of-the-art 12 court complex. We also have a four court fieldhouse occasionally available in the event of inclement weather.

Camp Director

Frank Barnes, Camp Director

Frank BarnesThe Camp Director is UW-Whitewater’s Men’s and Women’s Head Tennis Coach, Frank Barnes. Coach Barnes has elevated UW-Whitewater’s tennis teams to the national level since he came on board in 2002. Coach Barnes is the long time camp director of the ever popular Warhawk Junior Tennis Camps. He has been named WIAC’s Coach of the Year multiple times. Coach Barnes is also a two-time National K-Swiss Pro of the Year for his work as Nakoma Country Club’s Tennis Director, developing one of the city’s largest summer tennis programs. In 2006, Barnes was honored twice for growing the game of tennis. He was named USTA’s Rollie Mueller President’s Award winner, and the USTA/ITA Community Service Award winner. The PTR honored him as the 2010 National Coach of the Year and the 2009 Wisconsin Member of the Year. He also coaches the Wisconsin District Cup 12 & under Team.

Housing

Starin OutsideParticipants will be staying in the air-conditioned Starin Hall suites. For each group of four campers, these dorms provide four separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living space, and a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. You must provide your own bedding.




Meals

Starin InteriorWe have found adults prefer to avoid the student dining halls, so plan to eat out off-campus, or bring your own food for meals in your kitchen.





Camp Fees

The cost of the camp is $395. Fee includes all tennis activities, housing, Saturday’s dinner social at Cozumel, refreshments, and a Tshirt. A $100 non-refundable deposit must be paid to hold your spot at camp. Enrollment is limited to 48 campers, so register early. Check-in will be at 1:30p.m. on Friday, check-out will be at 3:30p.m. on Sunday.
