Winterim is a three-week session held between the Fall and Spring terms designed to help students keep on track for graduation. It features sections of courses that tend to fill up quickly during the academic year.
Winterim sessions begin shortly after New Year's Day and conclude on the Friday before Martin Luther King Day. Depending on the calendar, however, Winterim may begin in late December.

School of Graduate Studies
The School of Graduate Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater oversees programs whose goal is to provide high quality, practitioner-oriented programs that use knowledge and skills acquired through baccalaureate degrees as a foundation for advanced preparation and professional development for careers in business and industry, education and human services.
Designed by faculty and academic staff, the Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Reasearch Network Center was established on the UW-Whitewater campus in 1998.
Its mission is to assist faculty and instructional academic staff in their ongoing efforts to develop and refine their skills as teacher/scholars, and to support academic programs in their efforts to optimize student learning.
Partners In Education
The PIE program is a concurrent education program which provides a unique way to deliver rigorous curriculum to qualified high school students by allowing them to earn college credit while still fully engaged in the high school activities. By taking college credit in high school, students also set themselves apart by demonstrating that they can succeed in college classes.
Colleges and universities across the country are looking for innovative ways to promote student learning, student retention, and student success. One of the most successful approaches has been Learning Communities.
Learning Communities are based on the principal that students learn very well from other students, and learning communities give you ample opportunity to do so!
