Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Programs
Information for Students
As a student at UW-Whitewater, the decision about whether or not to drink and how you will consume alcohol (if you choose to do so), is entirely up to you! You do not need to consume alcohol to have a "true college experience" and many students on our campus choose not to drink. With a plethora of activities and opportunities to get involved available on campus, there is so much more to your life in college than drinking.
If you do choose to drink, we expect you will do so in a responsible manner that is in accordance with university policy and state law. We seek to promote a healthy campus environment that is conducive to academic success and personal wellness. Therefore, we encourage all students to familiarize themselves with the UWS Chapter 17 Disciplinary Procedures and the Residence Life Policies. Each student is responsible for abiding by these policies and lack of awareness of the policies is not an acceptable excuse for failing to do so.
Finally, we encourage you to explore information and links listed on our Resources page. These links provide valuable information about how alcohol works in the body, how to drink in a safer manner, should you choose to do so, and ways to get involved on campus.
If you have questions about any of this information, feel free to contact Amanda Krentz, AODA Educator.
