ATTENTION:
The Department of Computer Science in the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Networking and Security beginning August 2019. This is a full-time position with responsibilities for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, research, and service to the university, profession and community. Research expertise should complement existing faculty expertise.
JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities include teaching 12 credits per semester (including undergraduate and graduate courses) in support of the department's programs; maintaining an active program of scholarly development; and participating in grant writing and service activities including (but not limited to) advising students, program assessment, and curriculum development. QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate or ABD in computer science, computer engineering or related degree is required. ABD candidates may apply, but must have their degree completed by the contract start date in August 2019; if not, they will be hired on a one-year contract with the understanding that their degree will be completed before January 2020 in advance of their first scheduled review.
- Research emphasis in Networking and Security, including but not limited to: cybersecurity, computer or wireless networking, operating systems or embedded systems.
- Exceptional applicants in other areas of research will also be considered.
- Demonstrable commitment to excellence in teaching and continued scholarly activity, grant writing ability, and disciplinary affiliation and leadership ability in computer science are also desirable.

- Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations, including necessary training and drills.
