ATTENTION:

The Division of Enrollment and Retention seeks a Registrar


JOB DETAILS:

  • Management of the Office of Registrar including budget management and hiring, supervising and evaluating staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, accuracy and security of all academic records (grade collection, course completion, etc) of current and former students
  • Provide leadership and oversight in key operational activities including: academic calendar, university catalog, schedule of classes, class registration and records management, enrollment certification, degree verification, graduation clearance.
  • The Registrar counsels, advises, and informs students, faculty, and staff on academic matters; interprets and enforces policies and regulations, and sets policy and procedures for their responsible use including compliance with FERPA regulations.
  • Oversee the staff who implement Veteran's Affairs and NCAA Certification and serve as the NCAA certifying officer.
  • Administers the commencement ceremonies.
  • Participates in multiple campus committees including chairing Commencement and University Calendar; participate in UW System committees as needed.
  • Works closely with Institutional Research with the preparation of the Central Data Request.
  • Will be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Earned a master’s degree
  • Have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Registrars Office or four years in a leadership position in a Registrar’s Office and four years of other experience within a university setting
  • Experience with student databases
  • Knowledge and understanding with federal, state and accreditation agencies rules and regulations as they relate to the Office of the Registrar
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity


Desired Qualifications:
  • Registrar’s Office experience beyond 7 years
  • Additional related experience at a college or university
  • Serving as an Assistant or Associate Registrar
  • Supervising staff
  • Prior experience managing a budget
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PeopleSoft
  • Experience running large events
  • Experience with veterans certification
  • Experience with NCAA student athlete verifications


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to serve as the Registrar.

This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Retention. The Registrar is responsible for:
  • Management and supervision of the Office of Registrar, including 9 permanent staff.
  • Confidentiality, integrity, accuracy and security of all academic records (grade collection, course completion, etc) of current and former students
  • Provide leadership and oversight in key operational activities including: academic calendar, university catalog, schedule of classes, class registration and records management, enrollment certification, degree verification, graduation clearance.
  • The Registrar counsels, advises, and informs students, faculty, and staff on academic matters; interprets and enforces policies and regulations, and sets policy and procedures for their responsible use including compliance with FERPA regulations.
  • Oversee the staff who implement Veteran's Affairs and NCAA Certification.
  • Administers the commencement ceremonies.
