ATTENTION:

The Intercollegiate Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Athletic Director for Development.

JOB DETAILS:

Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for Development will support and enhance the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Athletic Department and the Warhawk Athletic Fund. The mission of the Warhawk Fund is to promote the athletics program at UW-W and to solicit private contributions as a means to accomplish these purposes and to sponsor or host activities designed to enhance the athletic department while providing alumni, donors and fans a vehicle to remain loyal and build the brand of UW-W Athletics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two to three years of fundraising, sales and/or marketing experience.
  • Supervisory experience of full time employees and/or interns/student workers.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in annual fund/major gift solicitation.
  • Fundraising software experience with Raiser’s Edge.
  • Experience in collegiate athletic fundraising, sales and/or marketing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Athletic Director for Development will oversee the process of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual fund/major gift prospects for priorities identified by the Athletic Department. This position will act on behalf of the Warhawk Athletic Fund in accordance with the department, university, conference and NCAA regulations. The selected individual will also act as the primary liaison and caretaker of the Warhawk Athletic Fund, including its mission, officers, board of directors and various committees on behalf of the department, and secure annual and major gifts by researching, identifying, cultivating and soliciting alumni and friends of the university. Other administrative duties and a leadership role may be taken on by this position at the discretion of the Director of Athletics. Other duties include: willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills; ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
