ATTENTION:

The UW-Whitewater University Bookstore seeks a Student Services Program Manager 1 (Marketing/Graphic Design Coordinator).

JOB DETAILS:

Marketing/Graphic Design Coordinator position provides the day-to-day administration of Marketing/Graphics Services; directs marketing and public relations efforts, and coordinates the Bookstore's and Textbook Rental's web page development, permanent signage, and digital signage; assists with planning and implementing Bookstore's special events to establish a distinct brand and cultivate a loyal customer base; informs students about their required educational materials and process of acquiring those materials, promotes various sales and updates all social media platforms. This position supervises approximately 8 students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Arts, Marketing, Communication or a closely related field is required.
  • Graphic arts and web page development experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • 1+ year(s) of supervisory experience
  • 1+ year(s) working in higher education
  • 1+ year(s) working with diverse groups
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Adobe lnDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • HTML/CSS and Social Media Management Tool knowledge a plus
  • Creative planning, communication, organizational and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of professional industry standards and programs
  • Sensitivity to student needs and an ability to relate on many different levels to the diverse students, faculty, administrative and community contacts this position encounters
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Selects, trains and supervises student employees and interns for Marketing/Graphics Services and Web Development.
  2. Coordinates graphics, a11work and marketing production schedules, including conceptualizing, writing and overall packaging of information.
  3. Develops and implements a structured brand for Bookstore Services Marketing promotions. Maintains website content and functionality including product images and inventory.
  4. Directs marketing strategies including permanent and digital signage, creative promotions, Web Page development, email marketing, video promotions, photography, multimedia, etc.
  5. Collaborates with the Chamber of Commerce for local events and participates in the Retail Committee.
  6. Manages operational and capital budgets for Marketing/Graphics Services.
  7. Researches and implements a comprehensive system of organizing and archiving of digital and print media.
  8. Ensure Bookstore merchandise conforms to UW-Whitewater identity standards and maintain a strong collaborative working relationship with University Marketing and Communications.
  9. Co-coordinates special events with the Associate Director such as author signings, sidewalk sale events, community collaborations, etc.
  10. Will be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
  11. Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by the Associate Director, Bookstore Services.
Supervision Received:
General Supervision is received from the Associate Director, Bookstore Services.

Supervision Exercised:
Supervision exercised over student employees and interns.
