ATTENTION:

The Office of the Chancellor seeks a Director of Strategic Engagement.

JOB DETAILS:

Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Director of Strategic Engagement will be responsible for providing university-wide leadership for business and community partnerships with a focus on Rock County, Wisconsin. The Director serves as a key strategic relationship-builder and will be responsible for developing new and stronger partnerships with various external constituencies, as well as constructive collaboration with internal constituencies. This position was established in partnership with the Studer Community Institute.

The Director will play a key role in identifying programs/courses/certificates, delivering customized training programs and conferences, and implementing leadership programs. This position will also require an understanding of data collection strategies, community research, data mining, and analysis resulting in data-driven decisions for supporting programs. Building assessments of program outcomes will be part of programs and events.

This position will be located in Rock County, Wisconsin.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to build constructive personal and institutional relationships with various diverse internal and external constituencies
  • Demonstrated strong skills in data analysis and developing outcome measurements of program offerings
  • Proven ability to use technology and tools for collaboration, communication and reporting
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage and direct priorities
  • Ability to design and implement programs that are self-sustaining
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad array of community and campus constituencies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with other individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training and Development
  1. Meet with businesses to determine key outcomes and programs/courses/certificates they would be interested in providing to their employees.
  2. Establish roundtable sessions for small and medium-sized business owners.
  3. Initiate the EntreCon program.
  4. Gather data to improve program and conference outcomes.
Community Engagement
  1. Meet with community leaders to explore opportunities for engagement.
  2. Develop community dashboards through the creation of surveys to be distributed to communities.
  3. Initiate CivicCon Conversations for community members. Gather data at the end of each event to improve outcomes for subsequent CivicCon Conversations.
Campus Community Collaboration
  1. Identify campus talent and resources to participate and support programming including identifying speakers and volunteers from faculty, staff and students.
  2. Coordinate and collaborate with departments and teams that are already creating and leading community facing programs and events.
