ATTENTION:

The Continuing Education Department at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater seeks an Educational Pathways Coordinator (Outreach Program Manager II).

JOB DETAILS:

The Education Pathways Coordinator is responsible for fostering relationships with regional school districts, technical colleges and other educational partners. The coordinator will plan, implement and evaluate programs and create pathways for to increase opportunities for high school students to receive UWW college credit for educational attainment. The coordinator will also work with UWW staff to help create and support degree pathways with Wisconsin Technical Colleges and other colleges and universities to increase higher education credential attainment for adult learners. The coordinator will maintain and expand partnerships with community organizations, coordinate and facilitate regional educational outreach events and assist in establishing and analyzing measurable performance goals. Duties include a high degree of public contact with school district, technical college and University administrators, teachers, community and state agencies and coordination with UW-Whitewater faculty, student support offices and Continuing Education staff.

The Education Pathways Coordinator will develop and implement innovative programs in conjunction with educational institutions, regional service/non-profit organizations, and UW-W faculty and staff. These may include professional development opportunities for educators, on-campus visits and pre-college academic enrichment programs. The coordinator will also be responsible for the overall management of our dual enrollment program, Partners in Education (PIE). The Coordinator will work with school districts to identify opportunities for collaboration and stay abreast of Wisconsin D.P.I. and University of Wisconsin policies to better understand how UW-Whitewater can best engage with regional stakeholders to develop meaningful career and college-readiness programs.

The coordinator will report to the Director of Continuing Education at the UWW campus. This is an academic staff, full-time, twelve month renewable position. The salary range is commensurate with experience and qualifications, and includes a highly competitive benefits package/state pension plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D./ED.D. OR Master’s degree in education, adult education, or related field
  • 3 or more years’ experience in working in education
  • Evidence of leadership, self-initiative, project management and the ability to collaborate
Desired Qualification(s):
  • Experience in a PreK-12 setting, familiarity with Advanced Placement and dual credit programs, and working with non-traditional student populations and/or experience with post-baccalaureate licensure program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Coordinate and grow the P.I.E. program at UWW and UWW-Rock County
    • Coordinates H.S. Relationships
      • Meets with H.S. principals, teachers, advisors, directors of instruction and school boards to explain the PIE program
      • Oversees the creation of appropriate marketing materials for the PIE program
      • Prepares documentation describing instructor/course approval process
      • Creates and updates guides on PIE administrative policies and practices
      • Prepares MOUs with participating school districts.
    • Ensures Curriculum Standards
      • Collects H.S. instructor c.v. and syllabi and submits to academic department for consideration
      • Informs potential H.S. instructors about discipline specific approval criteria for participation
      • Coordinates UWW liaison peer evaluations and course recommendations
      • Creates professional development workshops for PIE instructors and informing PIE instructors about these opportunities
    • Administers Program Delivery 
      • Consults with other Dual Enrollment programs, DPI, NACEP, UW System and HLC as needed to ensure compliance and use of best practices
      • Reviews liaison site visit reports and ensures that course evaluations are completed as required by UWW policy.
      • Manages PIE documentation and program records
      • Prepare reports on program enrollment, finances and assessment
    • Coordinates Student Registration, Course Delivery and Evaluation as directed by the Credit Outreach Program Manager
  2. Partners with school districts and local organizations to design credit and noncredit professional development opportunities for district instructors and staff.
  3. Collaborates with Continuing Education Services, Adult Student Outreach, and Admissions to develop and coordinate campus visits and program activities for those visits.
  4. Supports collaborative and cooperative programs with public and private institutions of Higher Education. This includes pathways development for adult learners and traditional students in AAS, BAAS, and other degree completion programs.
  5. Supports and communicates collaborative, 1+3, and 2+2 bachelor degree programs with appropriate institutions.
  6. Creates and evaluates assessment tools to ensure that degree achievement programs and pathway goals are achieved.
  7. Other duties as Assigned
