Custodian Recruitment

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater continually accepts applications for full and part-time Custodian positions. The register created from applications may be used to fill future vacancies at UW-W.

Type of Employment:
Full Time (40 hrs/week)
Part Time (less than 40 hrs/week)
Evening 2nd Shift (3 to 11pm or similar hours)
Evening 3rd Shift (11pm to 7am or similar hours)
Seasonal (minimum of 600 hrs/year but less than 1828 hrs/year)

Salary:
Starting salary is $11.284 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay Schedule/Range 03-08. A six-month probationary period is required.

Special Qualifications:
Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require a valid WI driver's license.

Job Duties:
This position is responsible for housekeeping duties in assigned areas and maintaining these areas in a safe and sanitary condition. Duties include but are not limited to: cleaning showers, restrooms and classrooms; sweeping and mopping floors; vacuuming carpets; dusting furniture; washing walls; emptying waste baskets; replacing supplies; snow removal; and other duties as assigned.

Special Notes:
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, bend, twist, stoop, reach, climb ladders, perform repetitive motion tasks and walk/stand entire shift. Well qualified applicants will possess the ability to understand work instructions, warning signs and instructions for equipment operation.
