LTE Consulting Psychiatrist
University Health and Counseling Services
Provide specialty psychiatry consultation services at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, University Health and Counseling Services. Consulting Psychiatrist must be able to work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and counselors, overseeing medications management in more complex cases and assisting with rendering a differential diagnosis. Will require management of medications for persons whose condition requires new, less known medications or combinations of standard medications.
This is an independent practice position not calling for direct or indirect supervision. The Consulting Psychiatrist must agree to participate in a psychiatric peer review process as required by accreditation and will also participate with other clinical staff in peer review and peer consultation.
Minimum qualifications: Completion of a full residency program in general psychiatry. Must be board certified or board eligible and have at least one year experience following completion of residency. Current Wisconsin license/certification as a physician/psychiatrist is required. The consultant must possess well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and have the ability to relate to a diverse university community.
