Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting

Accounting Department

Position: The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, Accounting Department invites applications for multiple full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the areas of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Tax, and Accounting Information Systems.

Starting Date: Fall 2014

Qualifications: Applicants should have a doctoral degree in Accounting from an accredited institution, however, applicants with doctoral degrees in closely related fields and ABD’s will be considered.  Preference will be given to applicants with CPA certification and accounting practical experience.  The College of Business and Economics is AACSB accredited so applicants must be academically qualified under those standards.  Experience with a variety of teaching methods in addition to lecturing is desirable.

Responsibilities: The UWW Accounting Department strives to be among the best regional public comprehensive university accounting departments by focusing on quality teaching, a solid research portfolio in peer-reviewed journals including pedagogical research, and service to the department, university, community and/or accounting profession.  Teaching responsibilities include courses in our undergraduate and masters’ programs.  All accounting classes are taught only by faculty/staff and many opportunities exist for interaction between faculty and students in and outside of the classroom.  For more about information about our department see our website at http://www.uww.edu/cobe/accounting/

Community: The UW-Whitewater campus is in Whitewater, Wisconsin - a city with over 14,000 residents near the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest.   The immediate area offers a wide variety of summer and winter recreational activities.  Whitewater is located 50 miles from Milwaukee, 45 miles from Madison, and 110 miles from Chicago.
