Position: Assistant Facilities Coordinator

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Facilities Coordinator at the James R. Required Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Communications, Arts Management, Safety Studies or related field.  Successful candidates will have experience in planning educationally purposeful safe events, experience with students of opportunity, experience with and technical knowledge of audio and visual presentation technologies, and experience developing student-training programs.

Preferred Qualifications: InfoComm CTS Certification, experience with R25 Reservations Software, and teaching experience are preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary: The Assistant Facilities Coordinator assists in implementing various events and programs by working directly with students and clients as part of the Reservations Office staff.  The Assistant Facilities Coordinator trains and schedules student operational staff, serves as a staff member for UC Reservations, and reports to the Facilities Coordinator.  This position requires a mix of daytime and evening hours based on office and event staffing needs.

Assistant Facilities Coordinator Position Description

Position Summary: The Assistant Facilities Coordinator assists in implementing various events and programs by working directly with students and clients as part of the Reservations Office staff.  The Assistant Facilities Coordinator serves as a staff member for UC Reservations and reports to the Facilities Coordinator.  This position requires a mix of daytime and evening hours based on office and event staffing needs.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists the Facilities Coordinator with weekly staff meetings and training for UC Building Managers, Tech Crew, Setup Crew, and UC Reservations staff.
2. Assists the Facilities Coordinator with monitoring of UC Building Managers, Setup Crew, and Tech Crew shifts, and helps with event support when reservation volume indicates additional staffing.
3. Assists the Facilities Coordinator with UC facility general quality control issues (spot check setups, signage, cleanliness, postings, and other items as needed).
4. Assists the Facilities Coordinator with equipment servicing, ordering, and resources inventory and reporting.
5. Participates in training on campus R25 room scheduling system and serves as emergency backup to the UC Reservationist as needed.
6. Assists with hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, & evaluation of UC Reservations employees and facilitation of fall & spring training.
7. Serves as a member of the University Center Reservations Office staff.  This includes attending departmental staff meetings, retreats, and training. Assists with events sponsored by the department.
8. Meets with customers and assists with special event advising.
9. Knowledgeable in presentation technologies and related hardware/software use.
10. Completes other duties as assigned.
