Position: Associate Dean, College of Letters & Sciences

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in an area or related field within the College of Letters & Sciences with credentials sufficient for tenure required. Rank of Full Professor preferred. The College has 13 academic departments and additional interdisciplinary programs.  A comprehensive list can be found on the college website (http://www.uww.edu/cls/departments). Minimum three years experience in higher education administration required.  Experience as a department chair preferred. 

Rank: Dependent on credentials for tenured home department

Salary: Competitive

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include developing and overseeing the annual college budget and staffing, coordinating the college professional development program, and overseeing the college teaching and research facilities. Secondary responsibilities include working with faculty and academic staff to support grant proposals through college matching, broadly overseeing college technology, chairing and serving on multiple college and university committees, and providing back-up for the Dean as needed.   

University: UW-Whitewater is a premier public regional university with an enrollment of 12,043 students in 50 undergraduate majors, 11 master’s degree program1s.  It offers high-quality, career oriented programs with a model general education curriculum. 

Community: Whitewater, a city with a population of over 14,000 is located in southeastern Wisconsin near the scenic Kettle Moraine State Forest.  The immediate area offers a wide variety of summer and winter recreational activities, including facilities of the nearby Whitewater Lake recreational area.  Whitewater is 50 miles from Milwaukee, 45 miles from Madison and 110 miles from Chicago.
